ABOUT THE SHOW
Gods and goddesses. Undying love. Heroes. Endless battles. The Poet shares a sprawling yarn based on Homer’s epic poem. Contemporary and immediate, An Iliad tells the story of humanity’s unshakable attraction to conflict with heart, humor, and compassion. Has anything really changed since the time of the Trojans?
“Explosive, altogether breathtaking…Brilliantly meshes past and present calamity, with touches of the most caustic dark humor suddenly shifting into unimaginable pathos.” – Chicago Sun-Times
*Long Wharf’s Student Theatre Series hosts 10:30 AM matinees dedicated to student audiences. Student Matinees for An Iliad are on Friday, March 29, Thursday April 4, and Thursday April 11, 2019.
