THE ODYSSEY: DEVISED
Making Our Own Epic
Rehearsals July 20-24, July 27-31, August 3-6
Shows August 7 and 8 at 7pm in Stage II
Participants will weave their own stories into a brand new adaptation of The Odyssey to create a devised piece based on the classic myth in the style of trunk/found object theatre. All actors will play multiple characters and create the different landscapes for the play. This will be a true ensemble adventure—actors should be very physical and focused.
10-12 students, ages 13-21, will work for 4 weeks on the project.
Rehearsal will be Monday-Friday from 1pm to 4pm.
There will be a one-time cost of $250 to cover three master classes.
Classes on Mondays July 20 and July 27 from 9am-12pm
AUDITIONS: JUNE 27 BY APPOINTMENT
CALLBACKS: JUNE 28 BY INVITATION
Auditions will be June 27 from 10-1 at Long Wharf Theatre. Actors should prepare a 1-2 minute monologue and bring a headshot/resume. There is a special interest in monologues that incorporate physicality.
Please contact Mallory Pellegrino at 203.772.8272 or email@example.com to reserve your audition time.
Some actors will be invited for callbacks on June 28 from 1-4, so please reserve this time now as you must be present at callbacks to be cast in the show. Callbacks will be a mixture of reading sides, viewpoints and ensemble work, and devising stories. Come dressed to move!
