Bursting with laughs, tuneful songs, and showbiz anecdotes, Tony Award-winning actor Jim Dale examines his comedic roots, and offers insights to comedians of the next generation in his brilliant one-man show.

Growing up in England with dreams of performing Music Hall, little Jimmy Smith became his country’s youngest working comedian. He then went on to voice all seven Harry Potter novels and become the internationally acclaimed, Tony® Award-winning Broadway veteran (Scapino, Barnum) now known as Jim Dale.

Renowned as a stage actor (Shakespeare at Britain’s National Theatre and Old Vic, A Day in the Death of Joe Egg, The Road to Mecca on Broadway), musical theatre star (Me and My Girl, Barnum, Candide, Oliver, The Threepenny Opera), film comedian (Britain’s Carry On films, Disney’s Pete’s Dragon), Academy Award nominated songwriter (“Georgy Girl”), pop singer and, to the younger generation, the hundreds of voices in all seven Harry Potter audio books, Jim Dale is a giant of the theatre. In his first one-man show, Jim retraces a multi-faceted career. Through songs and stories, he tells how the great tradition of British Music Hall comedy shaped his life, career, and in many ways the history of modern stage, film and TV comedy.

Hear Jim’s hit tunes (“Georgy Girl,” “The Lambeth Walk,” and many others) during this delightful and fun evening with one of the stage’s greatest raconteurs, directed by Tony® Award-winner Richard Maltby, Jr. (Ain’t Misbehavin’), and featuring pianist Mark York.
