The opening of Long Wharf Theatre in July 1965 marked the culmination of a tremendous volunteer effort on the part of the local community.

Committed to the dream of a regional theatre in New Haven, these individuals helped start Long Wharf on its journey of artistic excellence and began the organization’s strong tradition of volunteerism.

Today, support for Long Wharf Theatre continues to grow through a generous community spirit and the desire to be involved in the life of the theatre.

Volunteer Opportunities include:

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Volunteers serve in a variety of ways at Long Wharf---from benefit committees that plan and carry out fundraising events, to community relations efforts, and many others.  If you have a particular interest in some aspect of the theatre and would like to learn more about getting involved, please call us and we’ll be delighted to meet with you.

High school and college students interested in volunteering or participating in a formal or informal internship at the theatre are encouraged to complete the Theatre's NEXTSTAGE program application.

Those seeking information about the Theatre's Residency Program (NEXTSTAGE) are kindly asked to refer to the FAQ's page before sending inquiries. For all other related questions, please email nextstage@longwharf.org.
