LOCAL AUDITIONS DEC. 14-15 FOR LONG WHARF PLAY

NEW HAVEN - Long Wharf Theatre, under the leadership of Artistic Director Gordon Edelstein and Managing Director Joan Channick, invites local actors ages 18 - 30 to audition for Phenomenon of Decline, a new play by Joe Tracz.

This will be a Non-Equity production directed by Tyler Greene, a resident in Long Wharf Theatre's Next Stage Program.

Auditions will be held Friday, Dec. 14 and Saturday, Dec. 15, from 7:30 pm - 10:30 pm. Each audition will be ten minutes.

Callbacks will be held Monday, Dec. 17 from 7:30 pm - 11 pm.

Performance dates will be Friday, April 25, at 8 pm; Saturday, April 26, at 3 pm and 8 pm; with a possible performance on Sunday, April 27, at 2 pm.

All actors should bring a current resume and headshot. While walk-ins will be accommodated, appointments are strongly recommended and may be made by calling Meghan Kane at 203-787-4284 (x299) between 10:00 am and 5 pm, or email her at Meghan.kane@longwharf.org.

Monologues are not required, however sides will be provided upon request.

SHOW SUMMARY

Fifteen years ago, Randolph Wonder's twin brother went into a bog to retrieve a fly ball and never returned. Now Randolph lives in the bog in a vigil of grief and guilt, in a ramshackle cabin he built by hand.

But as the cabin starts sinking into the earth, and his three sisters arrive with three different agendas, Randolph must choose between seeking the dead and returning to life.

CHARACTER BREAKDOWNS

Randolph Wonder - Male in his late 20s; grief stricken writer.

Misty Wonder - Female between 18-22; a student, creative spirit with a lost and conflicted soul.

Lenora Wonder - Female in her mid 20s; bitter, quick-witted, hard-edged and opinionated.

Olivia Wonder - Female in her early 30s; kind-hearted, parental/mother figure, a psychologist.

Autumn - Female in her early 20s; nature-loving, finds beauty in the scientific, a breath of fresh air.
