RICHARD MALTBY, JR.

MaltbyAin’t Misbehavin’ was co written by Murray Horwitz and Richard Maltby Jr.

Richard Maltby Jr. was the son of a respected musical arranger. Maltby Senior worked with some of the most renowned artists of the 40’s and 50’s. Richard Maltby Jr. caught the bug and has been a creative and inspiring artist for the past 40 years.

Richard Maltby Jr. has had a full Broadway career. He has worked as a director, lyricist, writer, creative consultant and producer. He has received several Tony nominations for his roles as both a lyricist and director. He both conceived and directed the only two musical revues ever to win Tony Awards: Ain’t Misbehavin’ and Fosse, a musical revue highlighting the life and career of Bob Fosse. 

Some of his shows include: Song and Dance, Closer Than Ever, Miss Saigon, Pirate Queen, Big and many others. Recently Maltby has conceived and directed the jukebox musical Ring of Fire: The Johnny Cash Musical Show.

With a fire and passion for the world of musical theatre, Richard Maltby Jr. has boldly created new and recreated his old work to help motivate and enamor audiences for four fantastic decades.
